North Practice, full pads
Man coverage drills
- Kyle Wilson CB, Boise State took a play off.
- Devin McCourty CB Rutgers made a great break on a comeback route by Jacoby Ford WR Clemson. But Ford made an acrobatic play and caught the ball after a break up.
- Taylor Price WR Ohio still impresses me. He is running routes pretty crisply.
- Kurt Coleman S Ohio State got abused by a TE.
- Syd’Quan Thompson CB Cal is a prototypical Cover-2 corner.
- Mardy Gilyard WR Cincinnati just beat Mccourty off of press coverage, and Syd’Quan Thompson.
- Gilyard looks great beating press coverage with his quickness, which is a question mark for smallish receivers.
- KYLE WILSON is Playing himself into the first round.
- Brandon Ghee CB Wake Forrest finally showed up.
1-1 O-line
- Mike Iupati OG Idaho just killed Mike Neal DT Purdue twice in a row. And caked D’Anthony Smith DT Louisiana Tech 2 plays in a row.
- Matt Tennant OG/C BC shows a good fight. Not the most talented player but he is smart.
- Jeremy Odrick DT/DE PSU continues to impress. He has a plethora of moves on the inside.
- Vladimir Duccasse OT UMASS is no match for Brandon Graham DE/OLB Michigan. I don’t know if anyone on the North squad is.
- Eric Olsen C/OG Notre Dame cant anchor. He needs to be in a zone blocking system.
- Iupati is getting reps at tackle. And he just got caked .
- Alex Carrington DE Arkansas Sate looks like a complete beast. He is the prototypical strong side 4-3 DE.
- BRANDON Graham is un-blockable. Killer Dwight Freeney like spinmove.
- Tyson Alualu DLine Cal is like the energizer bunny. He just never stops. Not the most talented but he just catches the eye.
7-7 Drills
- Gilyard looks better in the team drills than the 1-1.
- Pittsburgh TE/WR/H-back Dorin Dickerson looks like a ball player without a position.
Blitz pickup- RB/LB
- Sean Witherspoon OLB MIZZU is just too much for backs to handle.
- Wow. The Division 2 back, Joique Bell Wayne State, is the first successful pickup.
- Donald Butler OLB Washington is a good looking kid.
- Daryl Washington LB TCU looks really god in space.
- LaGarrette Blount RB Oregon looks like he has never blocked a day in his life
FULL TEAM
- One play……… Joique Bell keeps on impressing me. He hit the hole well, but seems to lack that extra gear that the great ones have.
