South Practice, full pads
Quarterbacks
- Tim Tebow QB UF……. Ball drops way to low, and comes out sailing.
- Jarrett Brown QB WVU looks like the best QB on the South roster.
- Tebow throwing on the run… really floated that ball and let is sail. Not looking great.
WR Blocking Drill
- Hard to grade here. Riley Cooper WR UF attacks the defender.
- Joe Webb WR UAB, the former QB, really hits hard.
O-Line Combo Drill
- Terrence Cody NT Bama is un-movable. You can get him to slide east and west, but forget about pushing him back.
- C.J. Wilson DE ECU held up pretty decent for a defensive end. I can see why teams would think about him inside.
Offensive Passing Tree
- Tebow looks sharp here. His ball comes out on a line. His wind up is way long and the ball dips too low.
9-7
- Ben Tate RB Auburn was misused on a zone sweep. He needs to go North and south.
- The other 2 runs shown on TV were QB Draws.
1-1 DB/WR
- Marlon Rolle FS FSU/Oxford looks rusty. Late on his breaks.
- Dexter McCluster WR/RB Miss just toasted Javier Areans CB Bama on a double move, and then laid out to get an overthrown ball.
- Riley Cooper just abused Taylor Mays FS USC.
- Ternard Lindley CB Kentucky is being abused.
- Patrick Robinson CB FSU just had about a 5 second jam.
- McCluster is running a pretty good tree right now. He had a great double move and now followed it up with a sick slant on Perrish Cox CB OKST.
- Cooper is learning how to use his body and is a very physical receiver, but his hands are pretty suspect.
- Taylor Mays is very suspect in pass coverage.
7-7
- Joe Webb has good size and strong hands.
- Tebow seems to make up his mind where he is going with the ball before the play starts. Darryl Sharpton LB MIami had an easy drop and jumped right in the way.
Pass Rush
- Ciron Black OT/OG LSU may not be a left tackle, but he dominated Brandan Lang DE Troy.
- Dan Williams DT TENN vs John Jerry OG/OT Miss is a great battle on the inside. Williams gets great push, but John Jerry has a great anchor.
- When Cody wants to be, he is unblockable.
FULL TEAM
- Dexter McCluster is some sort of special ball player. At 5’8 160 he rams it right up the middle.
