North Squad
1-1 CB/WR Redzone
- Jacoby Ford, WR Clemson, is really growing on me. He is starting to run actual routes.
- Dan LeFevour, QB CMU, is dropping dimes today. He hit Mardy Gilyard, WR Cincinnati, on a perfect fade, but Gilyard couldn’t pull it in.
- Taylor Price, WR Ohio, dropped another pass. I still like the guy, but he needs to get stronger in his hands. Chris Cook, CB UVA, came up and tapped that ball right out of Price’s hands.
- Dorin Dickerson, TE/WR PITT, is trying to make the switch to WR, I don’t know if he has the instincts to play on the outside. I think he is best suited to be a receiving TE. He just doesn’t find the ball well enough in the air.
- Donald Jones, WR, from Youngstown state ran a great double move, faded to the back corner and attacked the ball in the air for what should have been a touchdown, but Terrell Skinner, S Maryland, punched the ball out after the catch.
- Of all the safeties on the North roster, Skinner has shown the best man coverage abilities.
7-7 redzone
- Chris Cook, covering Gilyard in the slot, just ran through a pick route and made a great play on a post corner, undercutting the route and picking off the pass.
- Next play was a quick screen to Dickerson, and Cook came up, stopped his feet and got shook out his shoes.
- Joique Bell, RB Wayne State, again looks lost in the passing game.
- Kyle Wilson, CB Boise State, continues to impress in man coverage. Blanketed Ford on a corner fade and got the deflection.
- Kyle Wilson again, all over Gilyard. Long pattern, a cross in the back of the end zone. Wilson was all over it for his second consecutive break-up.
- LeFevour overshot Jacoby Ford, gave Brandon Ghee, CB Wake, a chance to get in a pop him a little. A pass on a dime would have been a touchdown.
- Great ball by LeFevour, but another drop by Price.
- Gilyard with a great over the shoulder catch in the corner of the endzone. Got both feet in.
